A collection of my nonfiction reads from the first half of the year.
Circe by Madeline Miller
If you want someone who understands the harshness, loneliness, and beauty of the world like we've experienced during the pandemic, Circe has your back.
A 2021 type of check-in
A check in from me, and with you all.
A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova
This was a perfect fantasy romance. If you are looking for an escape from the election stress this week, I could not recommend this book more.
A Golden Fury by Samantha Cohoe
I was elated to join the blog tour and read A Golden Fury by Samantha Cohoe. Dark passions, alchemy, politics, and family drama weave a addicting tale.
Sacrificed to the Dragon by Jessie Donovan
A quick read, with good writing that falls into comfortable shifter-fantasy tropes, however this also includes some I don't love. 3.5 Stars overall.
The Silver Arrow by Lev Grossman
I highly recommend this for any of your children, nieces, nephews, or even for us big kids who are looking for a touch of wild magic ourselves.
Katheryn Howard, the Scandalous Queen by Alison Weir
To me this story was a long drawn out cautionary tale. While I didn't always love Katheryn's decisions. . .
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Beautiful and alluring, the enigma that is The Night Circus is a story that will stay with you and take over your heart.
Flame by Donna Grant
Flame was a good, quick read. It had good characterizations and an interesting plot.
