Adrienne cemented herself as one of my dearly beloved authors with Sky In The Deep, and The Girl The Sea Gave Back is a heart rending sophomore novel that will keep you looking for the specific kind of pain, and joy that Adrienne creates.
Call it the Gryffindor in me, but the noble self-sacrifice in the name of those you love is one of my favorite tropes.
When I wasn't laughing, or crying, I was able to use this wonderful novel as my escape.
