NonFiction Reads: 2021 Part Two

Wrapping up the year with the last half of the nonfiction reads that I was able to get to during 2021. As with my last post on nonfiction reads I will not review / star political books due to the nature of my day to day job, but I’ll share what I’ve read with you in case you’re interested. I try to read from both sides of the aisle and would love to hear if there are any nonfiction books you particularly loved!

I tend to read all non-fiction books via audio, which most of the time are read by the author which I love hearing what they said and how they meant to say it, to me that brings another level of authenticity and characters to memoirs.

  • This is a great, fast read, mostly photos and explanations about the history of South Pass City, home of the Wyoming Gold Boom. I have family that originated from this area, and it was neat to see some of my family included in this history as well as learn more about what happened in the mines around that time period. Fun fact you can go visit South Pass and see the historical buildings, as well as pan for gold!

November Reads

On the House: A Washington Memoir by John Boehner

Goodreads ~ Storygraph ~ Bookshop ~ Libro.fm

Trumpocracy: The Corruption of the American Republic by David Frum

Goodreads ~ Storygraph ~ Bookshop ~ Libro.fm

December Reads

The Long Game: A Memoir by Senator Mitch McConnell

Goodreads ~ Storygraph ~ Bookshop ~ Libro.fm

  • All of these were fast reads that provided interesting insight into how Washington, and politics in the United States works. You could 100% tell when Boehner was pausing to take a sip of wine or a drag from his cigarette when listening.

As a side note, some of the links to Bookshop or Libro.fm will either provide me or an indie bookshop I support a portion of the affiliate sales if you use them to buy a book I recommend!
