A Dance with the Fae Prince by Elise Kova

In a return to our regularly scheduled posts, I’m here to GUSH about A Dance with the Fae Prince.

This book was a delight. I gobbled it up in two sittings because I didn’t want to stop. Filled with the same lush details and gorgeous world building as in A Deal with the Elf King, Elise weaves another addictive tale.

I love Midscape and the world that continues to provide multitudes. Not only do we get the familiar of the fade, but we get rich history in our story telling. Each character has a back story, each lineage a compelling tale. Katrina and… her Fae Prince (because spoilers) have a cast of merry and slightly murderous friends that surround them, providing depth and the true key to the story. I love how they provide the true backbone of the story.

But what captures my heart in this story is that elements of healing. Taking the base tale of Cinderella and tipping it on its edge to show the healing, trauma, and strength of escaping abusive situations. Even better is the understanding that love and friendship can’t fix everything, but it can stay by your side while you heal.

This is the story of gentle, gradual, but passionate love. A romance, but also love for a people and a understanding of duty to others. Our Fae Prince is a perfect foil to our Elf King, as gentle and compassionate as Eldas was brooding, though both innately stubborn. There might even be a special scene with both of them together that Elise has promised to readers, and that I am dying to get my hands on.

Finally, I loved how music was intertwined with this story, bringing the details to life. I might even be inspired to make another playlist, just to highlight Katria’s special calling.

Please please go out and find this beautifully done story! It’s out for sale now, you can find it at:

And if you haven’t I highly recommend the first set in this world—check out my blog post on it here—and I am beyond pleased to tell you there will be another story set in Midscape! More details on that soon.
