This was a perfect fantasy romance. Angst to working relationship to tremulous love. The drama and detail made my heart pound and I blushed in those quiet intense moment. If you are looking for an escape from the election stress this week, I could not recommend this book more. Best part? It’s out tomorrow!
The beautiful world building and intricate magic system between the human world, the magical world of Misdscape, and the Fade ,the land in-between the two, wove together to build the best foundations of the story. As someone who is maybe more than slightly obsessed with the tale of Hades and Persephone this story included all the best elements of that tale, with a unique magic system.
The tight knit cast, allowed real relationships to develop, and not detract from the burgeoning love story, and I enjoyed every very minute of it. Our bad boy Harrow will always be a soft spot for me.
Elise allowed small breadcrumbs to become latter plot points and it brought such satisfaction in her ah-ha moments. Luella was intelligent and unapologetically herself but it was her compassion that made her character. The kind hearted queen to match her walled off ice king.
I am excited to say that this is the beginning of a series of one shot fantasy romances set in the same world, called Married to Magic, and I can’t wait for the rest of them! Make sure to grab your copy of Deal with the Elf King tomorrow!
Thanks to Elise for sharing an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
