Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

Team, I’m listening to these via audio book. A) I really enjoy the narration. B) I finished this book in two days. Two. That’s how much I adored this story. How enraptured in it I was.

Finally, the world is starting to shift. Things are becoming stranger, and I didn’t realize they could. Maura has disappeared, and we as the reader are pulled into Blue’s character more deeply than ever before.

Now, Maura and the Grey Man have debated who’s story this is. Adam’s, Gansey’s. However, I would like to say that it’s Blue’s, and in this third installment of the series, that comes out plane as day.

This I think shows itself best in the way that while the world around them is full of magic, sometimes the most dangerous things are the humans nearby. Blue herself, has always been surrounded by the abnormal, and at the same time cocooned in the love of 300 Fox Way. However, with Greenmantle coming ever closer, Cabeswater growing ever wilder, and death circling in the wings, Blue Lily, Lily Blue is perhaps the darkest of the series yet, which after The Dream Thieves I wasn’t sure could happen.

However, it is for this fact that the humanity in all its glory and terror shines through. It is here that our team looses faith, finds it, and questions themselves. While the night is dark and full of terrors, so too, is the daylight, and perhaps it doesn’t need to be when you are surrounded by those who care.

Another breathtaking installment in The Raven Cycle.
