You know the book is a must read when your book soulmate/bff texts you saying you have to ignore all the other recommendations she’s sent you and put this book to the top of your pile.
Roar is a wonderful foray into an interestingly diverse world. I enjoyed the settings and the challenges set along the path of the book. The characters I enjoyed, but with the main cast I somehow kept wanting more. As this is just the first jump into the series I have a feeling that they will become more fleshed out in the next book. Which I look forward to reading.
The best part is easily the storms. I mean hello. Semi sentient creations that attack the world around them, and and imbued with magic. That’s enough to make me want to start reading, however it doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what is going on.
I also enjoyed the “villains” of the series and they are probably what I can’t wait to see develop more in the future. Truly mysterious, one seems to be more anti-hero and I seem to be craving more understanding of all of them.
The world, the challenges, and a rag-tag group of heros (whom I adore and have my own theories about each of them) is good enough to get me hooked into it. I can’t wait to see what comes in the next book.

Dating because I couldn’t put it down and I know it’ll expand well into the following series.
